The Renault 5 was made with a front mounted engine, but the 5 Turbo was made with a mid-mounted engine set up in response to the Lancia Stratos and its success in rally. The Renault 5 Turbo Sported a turbo charged 1.4 litre engine producing a whopping 158bhp. Although Renault 5 turbo had a modified 5 body kit and sported the Renault 5's badge it was a totally different car entirely. The first 400 5 Turbos were made to comply with group 4. The Renault 5 would go on to win several victories in rally including Monte-Carlo.
I chose to make the Renault 5 Turbo as it is an iconic car in Motoring history. The Renault 5 Turbo was not only a rally legend it was also the fastest French production cart in the early 80's.
