This cute little creature is a Four-toed Jerboa (Scarturus tetradactyla). They live in the coastal areas of the northeastern parts of Africa by the Mediterranean Sea. They look like mice with very long legs and rabbit ears. They move around like kangaroos, and can jump up to 3 meters when they are on the run. Their long tail is used as an extra leg, when standing still.
This type of Jerboa is listed as an endangered species by the International Union for Conservation of Nature. They are in a high risk of extinction due to habitat loss.
With this LEGO model of the Jerboa, I have tried to make it look realistic in shape and size. I built it because it's one of my favourite animals, and I hope it will raise awareness about this endangered species.
