Hovercraft

This is a hovercraft passenger ferry.

I built this because I have always been fascinated by these amazing craft and used to live right in the heart of "hovercraft country".  We lived in various homes in suburbs of the city of Portsmouth: In Lee-on-the-Solent, around the corner from the Hovercraft Museum; in Old Portsmouth, near to the hovercraft port for the Isle of Wight (where we often went for the music festivals in Ryde); and in Gosport, from where we saw the ferry making her regular crossings out of our window.  We also made frequent trips to Southampton, driving past a shipyard where they still build these magnificent machines.  Building the model, and looking at her since, reminds me of many wonderful years spent on the south coast of England.

I think this would make a great set as hovercraft are a great, versatile, vehicle and an educational talking point.  It is also a simple build.
