Rebuildable Necklace With Jewelry Box

In honor of this occasion, I would like to share two new designs that can be built simultaneously. Both are entirely new, and not among the preplanned, which is exciting for me as the creator! 

Over the last few weeks, I have seen so many dragonflies that I’ve lost count. There have also been several varieties of butterflies fluttering and dancing about by the dozens. The other day, after receiving several up-close ‘fly-bys,’ I was inspired to lean into insectoid design styles. 

This first design is called the “Pari” (P034-212). Inspired by the shape of a dragonfly, Pari (pronounced PAR-ee) is a Persian name that means fairy. For this design, the attachment ring (clasp) is placed in the front as a decorative element.

This second design is called the “Quyên” (Q027-121). Inspired by the shape of a butterfly, Quyên (pronounced KOO-yen) is a Vietnamese name that means graceful or beautiful. For this design the scroll elements are used upright to highlight the possibilities.

Thank you very much to everyone who has supported this project so far! I truly appreciate it! In honor of this occasion, I would like to share a new design and some insight about chain construction.

The new pendant design is called the “Christina” (C062-232). Unlike the other designs (so far) it is designed entirely “on point.”

As you may notice, there are jeweled “links” (connectors) included in the chain construction. This is an option for any of the smaller pendants with a 2-3-2 chain format, if the pieces are available. Alternative “links” are shown below.

 

Since all of the chains are created using alternating stacks (1-2-1, 2-1-2, or 2-3-2), it is important to note how they terminate and attach to the ring (clasp) which is also shown in the photo above. All chains constructed in a 1-2-1 or 2-1-2 format will terminate as demonstrated with the sample on the bottom-right of the ring, so any length adjustments may need to be made where it attached to the pendant (changing from 1 to 2, or vice-versa).  For chains constructed in a 2-3-2 format, adjustments to length are made at the termination point. The example on the upper-right terminates with a “2” and the example on the left terminates with a “3” (the addition of a 1x1 in the center maintains continuity and “drape”).

Upon the advice of a fellow AFOL, I have decided to assign Names to the various designs. I think it therefore makes sense to begin by naming the ones presented in my original submission!

The main design will be called the “Margueritte” (M113-232). I have a great fondness for daisies, but the name is also an homage to an ancestor:

Thank you so very much to my first 100 supporters! Because of you this project has made it to the first milestone! I am very grateful to all of you for helping me get to this place and appreciate it very much!

 Although it is made from separate parts, this is the version of the necklace I have made exclusively for my official first supporter: my mother! She was not only the person that rekindled my love of Lego, she has always been the biggest fan of my jewelry! One thing I would like you notice is the lack of the attachment ring. This is very much an option when rebuilding the original model if you choose to make the necklace long enough to pull over your head.
