This is a typical beach day on Fort Lauderdale Beach in sunny South Florida. The set shows the intersection of Las Olas Boulevard and A1A, with the Wave Wall and iconic Elbo Room on the corner. The set includes a dolphin in the ocean, a bunch of palm trees providing shade, a mounted police officer patrolling the beach, and a several minifigures enjoying a day at the beach. The orange/amber street lamps are used to protect sea turtle hatchlings from being attracted to bright lights.
Updated the design to use city street plates are used so it can connect to other sets, made some improvements to the wall, and added a lifeguard tower. Next steps will be to replace the palm trees with the same style palm trees used in Lego City sets.
The last five images are of the original design to show how this project is evolving.
