Thomas is a young lawyer, he works in Denver, Colorado, but he still has the passion for wood that his paternal grandfather passed on to him.
As soon as he manages to escape the metropolis he enters the woods of the Rocky Mountain National Park and reaches the old family hunting cabin that he has transformed into his refuge, the beaver refuge.
In the silence of the woods, Thomas returns to being in contact with nature and relaxes by carving wooden stumps to create small sculptures.
The shack is raised from the ground, it rests on three wooden beams supported by three trees, the external covering is in sheet metal, a little rusty, the wooden parts have been painted a very particular lime green. Inside it is really spartan, it has a wood stove and a rudimentary kitchen, a sofa bed and a small bunk bed. The shower is outside, grandfather designed it.
Separate from the cabin, a few steps further into the woods is the bathroom.
Every now and then his father Devin also approaches the shack and loves to help his son, it is a way to share with him moments that they can no longer experience during their working days.
The beaver refuge, as Thomas calls his cabin in the woods, is a place that keeps him tied to his family's origins and which he will never be able to give up.
A total of 1944 parts were used to create the beaver hut, including all minifigure parts (2) and animal parts (3), it stands 32cm tall and has a circumference of 58cm.
I hope that many of you will want to get involved with nature and like beavers you will want to make firewood for my project.
Thanks to everyone who watches, shares and supports my work, and thanks also to the LEGO IDEAS team!
