The House on the Lake

The set that I propose to you today is not a simple house on the lake but contains the story of two spouses, who have finally reached retirement and who decide to live far from the routine of the city.

 

The Set

The set represents a beautiful house on the lake, built using a rock island that has maintained its natural beauty, the structure of the house is broken down into three parts, allowing playability on every floor and room. To create the set, 2390 bricks were used and the two minifigures representing the protagonists of the story, which will be told later, Alf and Mik, the little dog Ombra and the little squirrel Qui, were included.

The structure is rich in details, both internal and external, the house, which is accessed via a sliding glass door, is developed on two floors:

Ground floor: on the ground floor we find the living area with the kitchen in which a beautiful red fridge stands out and the living room where we find a large fireplace as well as the sofa and TV.

Upper floor: the upper floor is dedicated to the sleeping area and the reading area, furnished with brightly colored furniture, we find a large bed, two modern armchairs and a bookcase, it is also possible to access the panoramic balcony via a sliding glass door.

The structure is completed by an external area anchored to the rock island, from which it is possible to access the pier.

The external area is also full of details and accessories, in the rock part there is a nice barbecue, a woodshed made from the rock and an anvil with various tools for breaking wood, all surrounded by two red maples in the wooden part beyond at the pier used by Alf for fishing we find a small veranda used by Mik to relax with his herbal teas.

To complete the series of details we have the roof with exposed beams.

 

The story

Alf and Mik, husband and wife respectively, after years of hard work have decided to enjoy their retirement in a quiet place away from the chaos of the city.

To achieve their goal, with their life savings, they buy a small house, located in the center of Lake Pat and completely renovate it maintaining a classic style but with a touch of modernity.

Their days pass peacefully and peacefully in the company of their dog named Ombra and a small squirrel named Qui, already resident on the islet. Alf's days are dedicated to fishing and barbecues while Mik's days are spent savoring tasty herbal teas and reading books.

Together with the house, Alf and Mik also purchased a small boat that allows them to reach the shore of the lake to purchase supplies. 

Who doesn't envy Alf and Mik in their life choice??

 

The creation of this set was inspired by a dream of mine, that of being able to retire in a quiet place surrounded by nature and I believe it could reflect the desire of many people.

I think the Set could be fantastic for those who love to build, thanks to the multitude of details, for those who love to play, for collectors and also for all those who would like to live a little after retirement like Alf and Mik.
