This is a 1/3 scale replica of an antique deep sea diving helmet from around the early 20th century. Before the era of advanced submarines and robotics, if you needed something done underwater, you were putting one of these on. Today, antique diving helmets are a sought after and unique piece of home decor, making a Lego version the perfect addition to anyone's home.
As for design, the goal was to capture the helmet's unique round shape while still remaining hollow, giving it both realism and depth. Building it was surprisingly fun and simple, the spherical shape offers a building experience not found in any other sets and how all the sections come together is extremely rewarding. Although it may look intimidating, it's truly a set anyone will be able to put together.
