Woo-ooh!
In 1997 British band blur released their self-titled album featuring Song 2.
The song and its iconic video became huge hits. For new fans, this song is still a blast! It's a fast-paced, heavy hitting anthem with wild lyrics! For old fans like me, this song is a time machine that carries us back to when we were 18 years old and music meant everything!
I designed this diorama-style display set, with it's floral print walls and half-carpeted floor, to sit on shelves and desks where we work, study, and relax, and remind us of the nights when we used to leave for the club at an hour that we don't even stay up to see anymore!
This set is made of 594 pieces and features 4 mini-figures:
Singer Damon Albarn with microphone
Guitarist Graham Coxon with guitar
Bassist Alex James with guitar
Drummer Dave Rowntree with drumsticks
The room contains 2 amplifier set-ups, a microphone stand, chair, and a brick-built drumkit (with two choices of seat, one to allow Dave to fly off into the air and one to hold him firmly behind the kit).
There are four levers built into the floor to send the band flying and a mini-catapult mounted on the front corner to launch rubbish across the room, just like in the video.
One last (really) little thing: An Easter egg from the follow up album 13! Just to make sure he doesn't go anywhere, the milk carton from the Coffee and TV video has hidden away behind the amplifier to keep an eye on Graham.
Thank you for viewing my project!
If you're a blur fan, just love Song 2, or simply like flying mini-figures, I hope you'll support this set!
