Jack in the Bin

This is a play on the "jack in the box" concept using a road side garbage bin. I built this because I like different movement and mechanisms in Lego sets so I used a scissor lift mechanism and put small rubber bands throughout the model to give the model a surprising bit of height. The mechanism works quick and smooth to give that typical jack in the box surprise. It’s easy to reset by simply pushing the top back down and closing the lid again. I think this would be a great set because it’s a smaller build so can be a neat introduction to Lego technic. It’s a fun mechanism to put together and the result is entertaining for both kids and adults. I would like this to stand on a coffee table or desk and draw people in to interact and enjoy the surprise.
