Lego City Backhoe

There has always been a distinct lack of excavator, digger, jcb, backhoe models for Lego city, so with the help of my 3 boys, who are keen to have one as a model, We came up with the attached.

We believe this fits in with the current construction theme and fills an empty position required by many Lego lovers, enthusiasts.

The model needed to incorporate the look and feel of a real backhoe tractor, with ease of building and full feature set.

I found that the Lego red tractor set a good basis to build from, with the addition of front bucket, swiveling rear backhoe/scoop bucket, stabilizers, front weights, spot lights and typical orange hazard lights. I have also added antenna units to act as controls for the backhoe.

I feel the set should include a construction worker as standard.
