The hermit crab (which I've submitted like... 5 times now), the decorator crab, and the mantis shrimp are beautiful representatives of the subphylum crustacea and to me are some of the coolest creatures on the planet! I chose to build these three for this "Crustaceans Collection" because of their unmistakable abilities and characteristics. The hermit crab's ability to take the shells of other organisms, the decorator crab's ability to camouflage, and the mantis shrimp's smashing claws, make all of them masters of defense. Not to forget, they also look awesome!

The Set
This set consists of three brick-built models including the hermit crab, decorator crab, and mantis shrimp, which are all approximately the same size as the real-life animals. The two crabs sit comfortably on their decorated stands as the majestic mantis shrimp towers over them on its grand display.

The hermit crab model is an adorable addition to the set. It's completely posable and includes a shell which can be taken off and replaced with a custom shell, if one so desires. It can also stand up on its own without the stand.
Fun fact: Hermit crabs are not crabs at all, but instead their own species, in the same family as the robber crab or coconut crab.

The decorator crab model looks rather stylish with its sea urchin hat and coral clothing and is completely posable. The sea urchin above can be taken off along with all the coral, shells, and algae on its legs and body.
Fun fact: Decorator crabs use Velcro-like hooks on their exoskeleton to attach all sorts of things such as coral, algae, and even urchins to them for protection.

The mantis shrimp model is highly detailed, wonderfully colorful, and is absolutely the star of the show! The tail is engineered to sag and can be bent in all directions, giving it a really satisfying, natural feel. All of its arms and legs are fully posable as well.
Fun fact: There are two types of mantis shrimp: the spear claw and the hammer claw. The one in this set is the hammer claw. A mantis shrimp's punch travels at a rate of around 75 feet (23 meters) per second. Woah, that's 50 times faster than the blink of an eye!

Other Details
This set contains exactly 1846 LEGO elements and would make the perfect set for marine life enthusiasts!
