Includes:
-
Removable thunderbird
-
Removable grizzly bear holding a human figure
WHY
I posted this project on lego ideas because I think lego should have a set that recognizes the indigenous people and the people who lived on our land first.
HISTORY
This is a replica of a caved house post that First Nations used to use to hold up the roof of their traditional cedar houses. I made is a replica of a house post caved by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Charlie James in the early 1900s. The post shows a Thunderbird at the top and below a grizzly bear holding a human. This replica post can be found in Stanley Park, Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
