The Halls of Thranduil are great Elven Halls in northern Mirkwood, near the Mountains of Mirkwood. The cave system was built in resemblance to the caves of Menegroth, in the ancient realm of Doriath where both Oropher and Thranduil once lived during the First Age. The main hall, where sat the throne of Thranduil and where he questioned the Dwarves was enterable through the front gate and was very high and columned. Other caves were smaller and probably included various living quarters, storehouses and butler's camber. There were also various prison cells which at one time held Thorin and the Dwarves. As a river ran under the caves, there was a barrelroom and a portcullis which the elves used to float their empty barrels of Wine and foodstuffs.

The older version contains over 1.200 pieces! It has much more from the movie. There are the bridge and the main gate of the Elven Halls. And there are two more „roots-bridges“, these connects the gate with the throne of Thranduil. I wanted to build the awesome throne from the movie and I took that throne from the offical LEGO The Hobbit video game, but I had to change it, because it wouldn't work that way it was in the video game. I brought my own ideas to this project and build a new platform, an arc, the main gate and the bridges. And I made a hidden cabinet, where the two swords of Thranduil lies.

The smaller version contains ~ 670 pieces and there are:

  • Thranduil
  • Thorin Oakenshield
  • two Guards of Mirkwood

The 1.200 pieces-version includes:

  • two more Guards of Mirkwood
  • two Elves of Mirkwood
  • Legolas
