What is it?
May I introduce: The Spyrius Cyclone Saucer in the traditional black and red design with transparent blue and neon yellow accents. Just like the fantastic sets in the series from the 90s.
The inspiration for the Spyrius Cyclone Saucer was the small and very popular Saucer Scout 6835.
A set from my childhood. The Saucer Scout was my absolute favorite from the series. It was small, but affordable for everyone and the design was simple but brilliant.
Why did I build it?
Somehow I always missed something about the model. As a child, I often tried to extend and rebuild it. But only so that it would retain its unique shape. Unfortunately, I didn't have that many parts back then and couldn't really realize my ideas.
Today, this is no longer a problem. Thanks to LEGO graphics programs. And in my version, the star shape is still a central point that I really wanted to keep. The rest is everything as I imagined it.
Bigger, cleaner, more weapon systems and the Spyrius agent can sit normally and has an on-board computer and controls. Because that's what I missed most back then.
I just can't really decide between two versions of the on-board computer.
One is a transparent blue tile, which is supposed to serve as a monitor. Or as a slop with a computer print.
There is now also space in the interior for a handheld computer and a handgun to be attached and easily removed again. I left the handgun in the 90s style. But almost any modern handgun can actually be attached.
I also gave the spaceship small thrusters so that it can jet quickly through the galaxy. Thrusters on the underside for landing and taking off are of course a must.
Why I think it would be a great LEGO set?
LEGO has already brought some of the popular sets from the past days of the Space series back to life in a new and modern design, such as Blacktron or Classic Space.
Wouldn't it be fantastic if at least one set from every theme of the 80s and 90s was reborn?
The Spyrius Cyclone Saucer would be a good choice for this. It has 326 parts without mini-figure and would be a small but nice addition to the Space family.
Imagine the Cyclone Saucer starting to rotate and shooting out of every system.
Just like a cyclone that rotates and shows its full power. Hence the name. No chance for the opponent.
I hope you and LEGO will like my idea, so that LEGO will make it a reality. A childhood dream would come true.
