Little House on the Prairie was a lovely TV series which ran between 1974 and 1983, and was loosely based on Laura Ingalls Wilder’s best-selling book series named Little House.
It is a story about the Ingalls family who move to a little farm near Walnut Grove, Minnesota around the 1870s.
The series aired quite late in my birth country (Hungary) in 1998, but it still managed to capture the hearts of many people, including the ones my family. I still remember eagerly waiting to see the next episode (which aired daily) with my grandmother, mom and sister after a long day, so for me this show not only means great entertainment but it also brings back fond memories.
Additionally, the show celebrated its 50th anniversary this spring when more than 18k people gathered together for a series of events to commemorate and celebrate Michael Landon's work, so I really think it is the perfect time this lovely show gets a chance to become a real LEGO set - I am certain there are many fans who've been waiting for this for quite some time!
In my set idea one can find the little house from around the middle of season 4.
I also included the creek, an outhouse and a horse-drawn carriage along with the members of the Ingalls family: Charles, Caroline, Mary, Laura and Carrie, plus of course Bandit, the Border Collie mix.
It took quite some time to achieve the shape of the house as it appears in the series, but I think I managed to capture the essence of the show.
The roof is removable so you can access the interior where I tried to include most of the items they used and/or cherished in the series, including the rocking chair, the spinning wheel, Ma's shepherdess statuette and Pa's fiddle. I also tried to recreate the mantel as it was in the series.
The set consists of slightly less than 3k pieces.
I really hope you like my idea, thank you for your support and please do not forget to share this page to help it reach 10k supporters, and please check out my other product ideas as well!
