Vintage Gas Station

Introduction

In the 1950s the gas station was the meeting place for many people who traveled from one city to another or simply wanted to discover new places.
This model represents a vintage American gas station. I wanted to build it because I love that period of history and I hope to become a LEGO set one day to give everyone the chance to savour a piece of those fantastic years!

The build

The model consists of different elements:

  • the gas station;
  • the petrol pump;
  • three vehicles: one hot rod, one white convertible car, one motorcycle;
  • six minifigures: the mechanic, the petrol pump operator with a broom, the waitress, two girls (convertible car drivers), the man in summer clothes (hot rod driver);
  • two animals: one dog and one cat.

The gas station is made of a cafe and a garage and it can be opened. In the first one there is a kitchenette with a gas stove, a water tap and a coffe machine on the wall; in front there is a counter with a cash register to pay. Next to kitchenette there is a jukebox to listen to music or to dance; near the window there is a small table to eat.
The garage is smaller than cafe, but well equipped: there is a workbench with a manual clamp, a pillar drill, two wheels and a roller shutter to close the garage.
In the station courtyard there is a wooden ladder to climb onto the roof, where there are two cisterns; there are two wooden telephone poles, some boxes, a garbage can, a plastic bag, the big station sign, a red beverage dispenser, a street lamp, a lubricant container, some small tree pines near the road.

I hope you like the details! Thanks you for your attention :-)
