Welcome to the Palace Prismatic!
861 pieces.

Take your favorite heroes on an epic quest to navigate the traps and puzzles surrounding seven elemental treasures. Gather the items in the center to unlock the mythical Rainbow Stone. But beware; the seven clashing colored guardians might just forget their feud and chase down those who would steal their treasure. Fun and adventure await for those willing to risk it!

Essentially this is a castle made of stained glass, with several color-coded sections. I gave each color three levels (entryway, treasure room, and ramparts) and an elemental theme (fire, dust, earth, water, air, lightning, and ice). I also used black and white to symbolize the merging of color sources (pigments and light). The sections have various traps, adjustable ladders, and revolving panels leading to exterior walkways. Overall, I wanted it to have the feel of a game of Chutes & Ladders.

The seven knights are a part of the castle. When they are not fighting each other, they protect or retrieve the seven treasures. I gave each of them a different weapon and armor style (Japanese, Persian, tribal, Roman, medieval, Mongolian, and viking) to make them each a distinct character.

I created this set partly because I have had the idea for a long time. More than that, however, I like sets that can exist as their own without having to fit into any particular theme.

I think this would be good as a Lego set because it inspires creativity. Kids like creating their own heroes and adventures, and then applying them to new situations and stories. This set is essentially a blank adventure. What is the Rainbow Stone? Where did it come from? Why do the heroes want it? Everyone will come up with different answers.
