I built a couple of versions for a colosseum, trying to get the scale right. For use either as the arena scene in Star Wars of anything set in Ancient Roman times. But because gladiators are a bit to violent I decided finally to switch to chariot racing. This also brings more colour to the build and it fills the stadion a bit better. It is based on the movie Ben Hur, yet a chariot pulled by 4 horses was a bit wide. I decided a corner baseplate was the perfect foundation, if you by to sets you can have a full sized theatre. The zebra pulled Chariot and some other jokes are inspired on Asterix comic books. I wanted the chariots to represent the different cultures/tribes, Greek, Iberian (Spain), Germanic and African.
