Civil Air Patrol is a non-profit government organization that works in aerospace education, cadet programs, and emergency services. The Cessna 172 is the main workhorse of CAP, as it flies rescue missions, cadet orientation flights, and pilot training flights.
It took me a few hours to build, and has roughly 600 pieces. I think it's a great display model, and fun "swishible" airplane. I was inspired to build it because I'm a CAP cadet, and I want to introduce America's youth to an excellent program teaching key core values and life skills.
