Roman watchtower of the ancient roman-german border, the Limes. These towers were each in sight and monitored the Limes. The garrison consisted of 4 roman auxiliary troops.
The model consists of three removable floors. The roof is also removable. This allows you to play on each floor from above. In addition, a wall can be removed on each floor, so that the model can be placed with an open side for presentation of interior and exterior viewing.
On the ground floor there is the storage room with logs and shelves for food
On the first floor are the bunk beds of the team, the kitchen and the entrance door of the tower, which can be reached by a ladder.
On the upper floor is the guard room with holders for weapons and the exit to the parapet.
I came up with the idea for this model through my great interest in ancient Roman history. I myself represent a Roman legionnaire for the roman Museum in Haltern am See and have already designed and built many models of ancient roman buildings (for example the roman guardhouse in Haltern am See). Lego itself had only represented the ancient world in the minifigure series, so I designed and built all the buildings myself.
This tower is now supposed to be the first model that I publish at Lego Ideas.
I chose this model because it has a workable size and I have applied here the system of removable shelves and in addition to the removable wall.
All parts are from lego pick a brick
