Using a baseball or golf ball display case is okay, but it wasn't made of LEGO.
I have tried several approaches, the pictured one is my best and final design.
It is designed for LEGO Collectible Minifigures Series. Of course it can be used to display other minifigures.
Side view. It can use different combinations to built the support, shows here with one using 1 x 4 and 1 x 2 bricks, the other using 1 x 4 and 1 x 2 x 5 bricks.
It can be made into different colors as well. I think the red with black has the best visual effect.
Green with white is another one of my favorite.
