Anne of Green Gables

"Anne of Green Gables" was written by Lucy Maud Montgomery and first published in 1908. It is set in beautiful Cavendish, Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Since publication, Anne of Green Gables has sold more than 50 million copies, and has been translated into 36 languages and hundreds of thousands of visitors from all over the world visit this wondrous place each year.

When you go to Prince Edward Island, there are Green Gables merchandise and keepsakes to take home with you to keep the memory alive, but not a LEGO set of Green Gables. There is a huge market around Anne of Green Gables and this would be an inroad for LEGO to reach fans who otherwise would not have considered LEGO. Who could resist an Anne Shirley in minifig form sipping her Raspberry Cordial while Matthew rides by on his brick-built cart going into town to buy a dress with puffy sleeves for Anne?

The minifigs and Matthew's cart could be sold separately to go along with the house, adding to the quaint charm that this set would bring to any fan of Anne and Green Gables.

My goal in its design was to keep it simple and appealing, and yet still reflect the essence of Green Gables. I wanted the cost to be reasonable, and have it fit in with the LEGO Creator houses.

The main characters of the story: Gilbert, Diana, Anne Shirley, Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert. Ideally LEGO would create a new hair piece with two long braids (in a color to match Anne’s carrot colored red hair of course!).

And another view of Matthew’s cart:

This set could be bundled with a paperback copy of the book. This would be a different spin on the traditional Creator houses and add some in depth background to the set.

Please support this project and make this dream a reality for all fans of Anne Shirley and Green Gables! Thank you.

As in other Creator Series houses, the top will open up to review an interior where the figures can reside. Furniture, a small period kitchen and the like can be added as well.
