Caboose

A Lego Caboose
When I think of a train, the first two things I think of are the locomotive and the Caboose. For a reason I still do not know to this day, I have always had a fascination with these train cars. So it seemed obvious that I should try designing one with lego bricks.

Exterior
After some quick searches on the internet, I found multiple points of inspiration and various types of vehicles, but I knew I wanted to create a model that captured all of the most iconic aspects and would be instantly recognizable. The model has loads of exterior details including marker lights, a smoke stack, two latters for roof access, brake wheels, and steps to board the Caboose.

Interior
To be honest, before I had designed this model, I did not know anything about what Caboose were actually used for. After some further research I found that most are for lookouts in case anything is wrong with the train, sleep and rest courters for the engineers, and storage. With that in mind I quickly designed and created a detailed interior fit with a sink and kitchen space, multiple storage points, a bathroom with a working door, and two bunk beds. There is also a space for the engineers to view the train from an elevated point.

Wheel Bases
To complete the Caboose, I also designed custom wheel bases which work with standard Lego track.

Thanks everyone for your support and for taking the time to look at my submission!
