The Frecce Tricolori, whose full name is Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale (PAN) and forms the 313º Gruppo Addestramento Acrobatico based on Rivolto (UD), are the aerobatic team of the Italian Air Force, created in 1961 following the decision of the Air Force to create a standing group for acrobatics training of its pilots.

With ten aircrafts, including nine in formation and one solo, they are the largest aerobatic team in the world and their flight schedule, including twenty stunts lasting about half an hour, has made them one of the most famous.

From 2017 the aircraft used by the Frecce Tricolori will be replaced: from the current Aermacchi MB 339, used since 1982, to the new Alenia Aermacchi M 345 HET (Highly Efficient Trainer), a modern basic trainer jet developed by the Italian aviation company Alenia Aermacchi.

The model is M 345 HET in the Frecce Tricolori livery and in minifig scale, obtained assuming that 1 stud is 1 foot. It is about 32 studs long and counts of 507 bricks including a pilot minifig. The model features full Frecce Tricolori livery on the dorsal side, ventral side and flanks; it has got a fully detailed and openable cockpit adequate for two minifigs, including pilot and trainer instruments, pilot cloche and head-up display and two ejectable seats; all flight commands are movable, including ailerons, flaps and rudder; it also has got fully retractable landing gears. The model makes extensive use of advanced construction techniques, like SNOT and half stud offset, without any use of custom stickers.
