As both a LEGO collector and musician I love it when LEGO produces models of musical instruments. It is so inspirational to build a LEGO model of an instrument that you play. I first experienced this a couple of years ago when a friend gave me the LEGO Stratocaster set. Unfortunately, there are not many models of musical instruments in production. Many musicians will find themselves excluded from seeing their instrument in LEGO.
This idea aims to include violinists in the LEGO family by supplying them with a model of their instrument. This could extend the appeal of LEGO to a whole new crowd of musicians.
In addition to their appeal to musicians, models of instruments have great display value and are a fine addition to any LEGO collection. Musical instruments have a refined elegance that when translated to LEGO can create a beautiful set that is suitable for display in almost any context.
