Arne Jacobsen "Petrol Station" at Skovshoved Port

What do an ant, an egg and a swan have in common? Correct, they all come from the imagination of Arne Jacobsen, probably one of the most important representatives of modernism.

In addition to his furniture designs, it is especially his architectural works that enrich their environment. What particularly excites me is a Bauhaus-inspired ensemble near Copenhagen. It consists of the Bellevue Beach, the Bellevue Theatre, the Bellavista housing estate and, last but not least, the petrol station at Skovshoved Port near Copenhagen.

The model is a true-to-scale reconstruction from the toy that Arne would certainly have enjoyed. Despite the dimensions of the Architecture series, the petrol station from 1937 offers a multitude of details: from the petrol pumps to the garage entrance and the slightly rising roof. Everything follows Arne's clear lines and displays the lightness that characterises the aforementioned building ensemble.

The model consists of 221 parts.

I hope you like it and leg godt!
