Notting Hill

This project is inspired by one of London’s most iconic neighborhoods and also one of my favorite places: Portobello Road Market in Notting Hill.

Portobello Road Market is one of the most famous street markets in the world, with its beautiful pastel townhouses, quaint boutiques and vintage shops painted in hues of lavender, blush, mint green, arctic blue, buttermilk…

Every day, and especially at weekends, tens of thousands of tourists flock to visit this fantastic marketplace. Portobello Road is famous above all as an antiques market, but browsers can also find secondhand goods, essential household items, fruit and vegetables. And the market is considered an excellent place to buy street food, world cuisines and retro fashion items.

Each august there's also an annual carnival in this street, a caribbean festival event that has taken place in London since 1966.

Famous for appearing in films such as Bedknobs and Broomsticks, Paddington Bear and, most famously, Notting Hill, starring Hugh Grant and Julia Roberts, visitors come to Portobello Road to see this colorful market as well as explore the streets in search of the famous blue door.

This project doesn’t focus on the Notting Hill movie in particular but, as is the case with the actual neighborhood, it does include façades that call to mind some of the best known locations from the movie. The idea is to create a Lego set that captures the feeling of visiting this charming and world-renowned part of London.

This is my second project inspired by this beautiful place. In this case I've rebuilt the previous project from zero, using more than 99% of existing Lego elements. I’ve increased the sensation of curved street doubling the angles and also I’ve added some ‘carnival feeling’ to the scene.

The set would have approx. 2340 pieces and include 7 minifigures. Some printed/sticker pieces are suggested.

Thank you in advance for your support!
