I’m a huge Classic Space fan and I felt that the new reddish-brown mini-figure needed its own spaceship, so I decided to build one. Recently, Classic Space has gotten some cool reimagined sets, but I wanted to build something that was a little smaller.
I wanted to create a GREAT LEGO SET that reflected some of aesthetics of the smaller Classic Space sets. A mid-size ship that invited plenty of playability, but a lower price point.
Presenting the GALACTIC TROUBADOUR.
Piloted by “Browntron” pilot Bohdi and his faithful co-pilot husky Horchata.
The ship features the following:
-Separate compartments for both the pilot and the co-pilot
-Acoustic guitar and surfboard with Internal AND external storage options for each.
-Dog bone for Horchata with internal storage clip
-The ship separates into two sections in case of emergency,
-Ship powered by twin “barrel-engines”, double fez-boosters, and “Blue Lotus” afterburner
-Groovy 70’s paint job
-Optional Hi-Fi Speakers (pictured below)
I think the Galactic Troubadour would make a great LEGO set, as it echoes some of the play features of other Classic Space sets such as emergency cockpit separation, swooshability, and precious yellow canopies. It also expands the color palette of the spaceships to include reddish-brown, an unusual, but *striking* look for spacecraft.
Classic Space is a theme that has inspired so many fans worldwide for decades. As a big LEGO fan myself, this is the LEGO set that I would want to buy, and I think the same could be said for the many other fans of LEGO out there.
Please support Bohdi and Horchata to help the Galactic Troubadour become an official LEGO set.
