Rocking Chair

Thank you for reviewing my LEGO idea.

How did the idea come to me?

The idea for designing this rocking chair came to me in a strange way. It dates back to four years ago, during a summer day. I was staring at my grandmother's rocking chair, and I found it fascinating. I thought, how cool would it be if I could build this chair out of LEGO? I spent a whole month working on it, but since I was still in school, I couldn’t finish it. Fast forward four years, just two weeks ago, I randomly came across a LEGO Ideas set, and it reminded me that I also had a great idea waiting to be completed. So I got to work, refined my idea, and added a simple mechanism to make it functional.

Description

My main focus has been on the rocking chair, so I’ve built it to be as sturdy and detailed as possible. It can rock back and forth thanks to a simple mechanism I discovered on YouTube, and it works perfectly. Next to the chair, there's a basket filled with wool yarn (in the shape of pumpkins) and two knitting needles, just like I remember my grandmother always having beside her chair. She used to sit there and knit scarves—such great memories. The base holding the chair and the yarn basket is designed to be simple yet elegant, but the box itself is empty. I would love to hear your ideas about what could go inside the box!

No Minifigure
The set has approximately 440 pieces.

Made with love.
