Pompei at time of Roman Empire
The model is composed by 2974 bricks and has a quite big dimension 3 platform 48x48 in X and 2 platform 48x48 in Y.
Building and structure:
- Mount Vesuvius
- Apollo Temple
- Amphitheatre
- Small theatre
- Villa of Diomedes
- Decumanus and Cardo Maximus are the principlal streets the converge in the Obelisks Square.
The model, based on real maps of Pompei (nowadays), represents a quotidian day in the august of 79 AD before the Eruption of Mount Vesuvius but it is on activity yet. Pliny the elder in front of Apollo Temple chat with a high minister. The life at Pompei goes normally a shepard must tend his flock and are going to the agora. The Agora is the centre of life where a woman are selling food, supplies and weapons. In the Amphitheatre two gladiator are training under the train of their “Mecenate” (patron). In front of the Amphitheatre is built the Apollo temple, controlled by a guard, inside there are chair and the statue of Apollo. Beside the agora there are the pleb barracks where the common people live. The Villa of Diomedes has a pool and garden where the Matron of Pompei are walking. The last building is the theatre where a comedian are trying his monologue. Each building is cured in every details, inside and outside as visible in all the picture.
