Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles & Splinter (TMNT 1987)

One day while in the sewers of New York City, a man named Hamato Yoshi discovered the four baby turtles he adopted covered in a strange, glowing ooze. This ooze caused whatever touched it to mutate and gain characteristics of whatever animal they previously came into contact with. Hamato Yoshi, having previously touched rats, transformed into a humanoid rat. The four baby turtles, who recently were touched by Hamato, became humanoid. This started the new lives for these five individuals. Together, they became the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and their Master Splinter!

This set is based off of the cartoon series that started in 1987. The cartoon was based off of comic book characters created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird. The TMNT (1987) series lasted 10 seasons and aired from December 28 1987 to Novemver 2, 1996. The TMNT (1987) version of the Ninja Turtles were later shown in a movie, Turtles Forever, with their TMNT (2003) counterparts. They also appeared in several episodes with the TMNT (2012) versions of the Ninja Turltes.

These are the characters that I designed for this set:
Leonardo - the leader
Donatello - the one who builds machines
Raphael - cool, but rude
Michelangelo - the party dude
Splinter - a radical rat

I designed these figures to have multiple joints so they can be posed in many different ways. I also designed each of their signature weapons for the turltes to use. I included Splinter in this set because the Ninja Turltes wouldn't be who they are without him.

I think this would make a great lego set not only because I based it off of popular characters that are still having cartoons, movies, video games, and comic books created based off of them, but the TMNT (1987) cartoon version of the turles are nostalgic to many Ninja Turtle fans. They are even known by many of the younger TMNT fans due to the TMNT (1987) versions of the Ninja Turtles appearing in later cartoon series. When I think about this series, I remember watching the Ninja Turtles winning against the Shredder, Krang, and their other enemies. I hope others who have enjoyed the Ninja Turtles enjoy this set as much as I have enjoyed designing it.
