THE PREMISE

"Is this a kissing set?"

This set is based off of the classic 1987 movie, The Princess Bride. For over 25 years this movie has captured the hearts of audience after audience. Possibly the most quotable movie of all time, it's a wonder it hasn't been turned into a LEGO set already. This LEGO Ideas proposal aims to recreate three iconic moments from the film in LEGO brick form.

THE CHARACTERS

Fezzik

"Anybody want a peanut?"

A rather simple giant from Greenland. His exceptional strength and monstrous mass are only matched by his love for Rhyme. Not the brightest, Fezzik finds himself in the employment of Vizzini.

*Uses the Hulk body...But could probably be made using other methods, if necessary.

Inigo Montoyo

"Hallo, my name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

A master of the sword, Inigo is searching for the six fingered man so he can enact revenge for his father's premature death. Struggling to make ends meet (There isn't much money in the revenge business) Inigo strikes up work with Vizzini to help out.

Princess Buttercup

"Your princess is quite a winning creature. A trifle simple, perhaps. Her appeal is undeniable."

A simple farm girl, Buttercup finds herself engaged to Humperdink, the prince of Florin (whom she does not love) when her true love is lost at sea to pirates. She is kidnapped by Vizzini, Fezzik, and Inigo so they can start a war between the countries of Guilder and Florin.

The Man in Black

"Who are you?"

"No one of consequence"

"I must know"

"Get used to disappointment"

The mysterious Man in Black is following Vizzini, Fezzik, and Inigo into Guilder. No one knows who he is, where he's from, or what his motives are.

THE SCENES

The Battle of Steel

"You seem a decent fellow...I hate to kill you."

"You seem a decent fellow...I hate to die"

The first little vignette is a representation of the duel between the Man in Black and Inigo. After scaling the Cliffs of Insanity they test their blades against each other in a duel. 

The Battle of Strength

"It's not my fault being the biggest and the strongest. I don't even exercise"

The Man in Black against Fezzik. Mano a mano. Strength against strength. Can the Man in Black win against this massive giant?

The Battle of Wits

"All right. Where is the poison? The battle of wits has begun. It ends when you decide and we both drink, and find out who is right... and who is dead."

This is it! The Battle of wits! For the princess! To the death! Will the mysterious Man in Black stop the kidnappers from killing Princess Buttercup? Only time will tell...
