The 100 Supporters Update!
Hello! We made it to the first milestone! Thank you all very much for helping this idea reach it! And today I'm going to highlight some changes to some of the models and show off some examples of what the Maxes could look like, as well as a Mix and a Murp! But first the changes.
Changes:
Wydanet: I've changed the colors of a couple of his parts. (The parts at the back of their magnet horns) And I change the heels of his legs to wedge plates to make them look less awkward.
Magtton: Changed the color of the sides of his legs. (The Technic 1 x 2 bricks)
Muttract: I changed the tail to a bit more appealing design, using the part they use for R2-D2 and the other druids. (Round 2 x 2 x 2 robot body with bottom axle)
Roachual: Change a bit of his backside, where his last set of legs are. (Changed from a bracket to a modified 2 x 2 x 2/3 plate)
Spurkle: Changed some things under the hood with this guy. And I need to explain a few things for this part. I'm not too much of a expert when it comes to building techniques if I am going to be honest. I used a technic pin with a ball joint and put it through a round 2 x 2 tile with a pin slot and then placed a small tower of round 1 x 1 stud bricks, that has two 2L bars with stop ring on each side for stability, on top of it. However when I thought about it, it would be a bit wonky to make it this way. I tested it with the method above in person and it sorta worked, but it felt loose this way. So he now uses two Technic 1/2 pins with 2L bar extensions, the ones used for missiles in quite a lot of LEGO sets. And then I placed two 1 x 1 x 2/3 modified bricks and stuck two 1L bars with tow balls for the legs into them. I think this will help it be better to build when people want to recreate this guy themselves, as well as make it more presentable for people who has a eye for things like this. While I don't have the means to try this out, as I don't own a round 2 x 2 tile with the pin slot right now, I think this should feel a whole lot nicer since the bar would make it spin less and be able to feel more stable.
Constella: Now for the biggest change. I decided to remove the ring design as personally it felt way too
bulky and noisy. So I chipped away at a new design in my spare time and I think I made a good enough redesign. Of course I didn't think TOO hard on it since this isn't the final version, as this is only a Idea and not the final product, if it reaches 10,000 and gets picked that is. However that thought didn't stop me from having some fun remaking some of her! So here's a picture that shows the "Old version" and the "New version".
I like the design on the right way better because it makes her more regal looking. I based it off of old
Victorian dresses, with a fantastical twist of course. Hope you like the new design!
Now It's time to go over the gimmicks of the Mixels Theme! Just something I've been having fun with in my free time to show off when I get to 100 supporters!
The Maxes:
A Max is when three from the same Tribe of Mixels Mix! These figures are usually pretty hefty, since it combines almost every part from the three figures into one. I had tons of fun when making these guys since it was like a puzzle of how to put every piece together! So here they are!
Pretty neat, huh? Back then they posted the Max instructions online and that's how you would find out how to build these kind of figures. Of course these designs are only made to show off what Maxes look like, as it's up to LEGO themselves to make a MAX design with the final product if this Idea makes it all the way. IF they choose to do so. I hope they do though, since it is apart of the theme's identity! But if not, you could always make your own like I did! Along with the others below!
The Mix:
This is a figure I made with both Wydanet and Hoverat.
The Murp:
And this is the Murp I made with Muttract and Spurkle! Now the difference between a Murp and a Mix (At least from my understanding) is how goofy looking they are! If they look like they could be something that LEGO might make, then it's a Mix. But if it's the most silliest thing you ever laid your eyes on, then it's a Murp! I love these concepts since it was something I would do all the time when I as a kid with other LEGO sets. So the Mixels theme was perfect for me!
Now that is all for this update! I'll be posting small updates that celebrate the other milestones, but no actual changes with the models themselves from here on out. These will be the final changes to these guys since I am satisfied with their designs! I wish you all a great day!
