Maria Skłodowska-Curie was one of the most outstanding figures in the world of science. Born in Poland, she studied and worked in France. Together with her husband, a French physicist – Pierre Curie – she discovered two radioactive elements – polonium and radium. She was the first woman to receive the Nobel Prize and the first person in the world and the only woman to receive this award twice – in two areas – chemistry and physics. She was friend of Albert Einstein. As one of the first women she made a driving license. She was not afraid to break old rules in the world where woman were just starting to fight for their rights.

I am very impressed by the achievements of Maria Skłodowska-Curie and therefore I decided to honor her in a way that I am the most familiar with – with a LEGO® creation. By voting we can make the scene an official set. Let’s do it!

Maria Skłodowska-Curie była jedną z najwybitniejszych postaci świata nauki. Urodzona w Polsce, studiowała i pracowała we Francji. Razem z mężem, francuskim fizykiem – Pierrem Curie – odkryła dwa pierwiastki promieniotwórcze – polon i rad. Była pierwszą kobietą, która otrzymała nagrodę Nobla oraz pierwszą osobą na świecie i jedyną kobietą, która otrzymała tę nagrodę dwukrotnie – w dwóch dziedzinach – chemii i fizyce. Przyjaźniła się z Albertem Einsteinem. Jako jedna z pierwszych kobiet zrobiła prawo jazdy. Nie bała się łamać starych zasad w świecie, w którym kobiety dopiero zaczynały walczyć o swoje prawa.

Jestem pod wielkim wrażeniem osiągnięć Marii Skłodowskiej Curie i dlatego postanowiłem uhonorować ją w sposób, który jest mi najbliższy – budowlą z klocków LEGO®. Głosując, możemy sprawić, że scenka stanie się oficjalnym zestawem. Zróbmy to!

Marie Skłodowska-Curie était l'une des plus importante chercheuse du monde de la science. Née en Pologne, elle fit ces études en France. Avec son marie Pierre Curie, un physicien français, elle découvrit deux éléments radioactif – le polonium et le radium. Elle fut la première femme à recevoir le prix Nobel, la première personne ou monde a recevoir ce prix deux fois dans deux matière diffèrent – en chimie et en physique – et la seule femme à ce jour. Elle comptait parmi ces amis Albert Einstein. Elle fut aussi l'une des premières femme à avoir le permis de conduire. Elle n'avait pas peur de briser les anciennes règles dans un monde où les femmes commençaient à peine à se battre pour leur droits.
