One Benjamin down! Only 99 more to go... Also, welcome 402!
Wow, what a week it has been! I wake up on Black Friday, only to discover my Color Hex-Wheel had been approved to go up the site, and it was live! Frantically rescheduling my day and weekend, I slapped together some things to put up on social media, and pushed hard in particular on that (now) memorable day after Thanksgiving. The work paid off, I was a quarter of the way to 100 by the first day.
For those of you who have done Ideas before, you know what comes next- the grind. Working anywhere and everywhere to promote your stuff! It has already been a learning experience, and a positive one at that.
This week has also confirmed what many of us had wondered since the LEGO Monkie Kid set was revealed in Shanghai a few weeks ago - is there a new color coming soon? It turns out, that answer is YES!
From the article about that set:
温笑冬: The pagoda roof piece is a new colour [the new-for-2024 colour, 402 Reddish Orange] ...
Eagle-eyed observers of this project may have noted the gap between Bright Red and Bright Orange in the palette. That will be changing today, as I tentatively use 402 - Reddish Orange to fill that unsightly gap. I'll also update the description to excise the line about vermillion. (Here's hoping that LEGO doesn't have too many more new colors coming out in the next few months, or else I won't be able to keep up!) Here's a preview:
Without parts in hand, nor updates to Studio, I had to eyeball it!
While I can't predict (well, I was really hoping for this one) every new color to come, the cool thing about the Color Hex-Wheel concept is, and LEGO in general- it is modular and this design can grow with the LEGO color palette. (At least for another 100 or so colors!)
Special thanks to my first 100+ supporters- for spending some time to support this idea, for writing comments, and for the support shown along the way.
Here's to the next 10 colors from LEGO, and to the next 100 fans of color and LEGO to support this project! (Hopefully many more beyond that.)
