I love Speed Racer, in fact it's my favorite movie ever, of all time.

And while I love the sets that were released back in 2008 they were in desperate need of an update especially with all of the amazing new peices that have been released via the speed champions line over the past 6 years and thats what I tried to accomplish here. An interesting thing to note is that even in the Moc space Speed Racer related stuff and especialy stuff from the movie is almost noneexistent so originally the goal was to fill that void and it just kinda evolved into this.

The Casa Cristo is a back alley rally race that takes up a lot of the movie's run time and features the movie versions of many of the beloved cars from the original anime. There were probably 100 cars in the in this race and only 15 of them (split between 8 unique car designs) had enough screentime and images online for me to be able to recreate them as best I could in lego. Two of the 4 original speed racer lego sets were in fact based on this race but only on the second half and only 4 of the cars were made probably much in part due to the limitations at the time among other things.

Even if this becomes one set or multiple I feel that not only Speed Racer fans but also anyone who likes cars in general would like them due to just how cool and unique the designs of these cars are and it would be a dream come true to see speed racer get new updated sets after 16 years.

The biggest flaw of the current designs I will admit is the lack of stickers and prints for any of the minifigs or cars, I don't really understand the parts maker app and I lack the artisitc skill to make many of the far more complex detailing on the Hydracell and Sempre Fi-ber cars so I just didn't and I hope that doesnt deter your support.
