"Say pal, you don't look so good. You'd better find something to eat before night comes!"
== Overview ==
In Don't Starve, a game by Klei Entertainment, you play as Wilson, a scientist stuck in a shadowy, unsettling world called the Constant. With nothing but his wits, Wilson has to craft tools, hunt for food, explore for knowledge, and battle strange creatures to stay alive for as long as he can.
== Background ==
When I started playing that game, I soon noticed how easily your character can die from any possible reasons. The first night I was simply killed by darkness. Then it’s a pack of hounds coming out of nowhere, chasing you from one side of the world to the other. I still remember how terrified I was when I saw an evergreen becoming a giant, furious treeguard that wanted to kill me. I quickly gave up because the game was too hard and every time I die I need to restart from day 1.
I started to play the game again in 2020, when I was trapped at home during the pandemic. At that time I couldn’t explore the real world, but this game gave me another world to explore. I spent countless hours in the game, crafting every item and structure, going to every corner on the map, until I knew (almost!) everything about that world. It’s probably my favorite game, although I haven’t played many games lately. So the idea came to me that it must be very interesting to make this game 3D in Lego.

This set is a base camp you can build in the game. Indeed you can build your base in a hundred different ways, and you can even choose not to build a base at all, but this set contains the most common items / structures you will see in a base, including
- Chest
- Alchemy engine
- Shadow manipulator
- Birdcage
- Fire pit
- Ice box
- Crock pot
- Tent
To make it more playable, one character and some creatures are included in the set:
- Wilson (the default character)
- Chester (with its eye bone)
- Pig
- Spider
- 3 birds: crow, redbird, snowbird
Other things include:
- A board to place all the items on
- 2 evergreens of different sizes (none of them is treeguard!)
- Weapons: spear, ham bat
- Tools: axe, pickaxe, shovel
There are many many more items I wanted to include in this set. I even already build a Deerclops, but had to remove it from this set because it uses too many blocks, and I have absolutely no idea how it can stand:
I’ll probably rebuild the Deerclops and submit it as another entry, if people like the idea of building Don’t Starve in Lego ;)
