What is this build?
This is a LEGO model V8 engine I created. The very first known V8 engine was created in 1904 by a French man named Leon Levavasseur. V8 engines can be found in trucks, race cars, sports cars, etc. there are also other variations of V type engines such as the V-4, V-6, And V-10. It is obviously unable to function in a real car, but this product showcases the main features of a V-8 engine as a model.
What made you want to make it?
One day my grandparents came and visited us. While they were there my grandma gave me a little booklet on V8 engines and asked me to make one out of LEGO bricks. At first I was hesitant on the idea since I was not sure if it was possible with LEGO bricks, but soon after I began the big project and soon became fascinated by V8 engines. About a month later I finished it and showed it to my dad, who kindly gave me a few suggestions on how to make it more realistic and better and also gave me a little tour of his car and showed me how a real V8 works. Overall it took a little over a month to build it.
What makes you think this would make a great LEGO set?
For a long time, LEGO has been making mini V8 engines inside car sets specifically. However, LEGO has never made a fully operational V8 engine with valves, the fan, and the other few main components a V8 engine has in a LEGO set at least. Also, I believe LEGO can use some hard-core engineer sets for adults in addition to the other sets specifically made for adults. V8 engines, or engines in particular are also part of our everyday lives and are used as a means of transportation for humans. In conclusion, I believe it will benefit LEGO if they make this project a LEGO set.
