The Stars of German Kids TV Show 'Die Sendung Mit Der Maus' - 50th Anniversary Set

These are the stars of German kids TV show 'Die Sendung mit der Maus' ('The show with the Mouse', also dubbed 'Mouse TV') which is very popular amongst German kids - and adults, too, as the show first aired in 1971, so the 50th anniversary of the show is getting closer: in fact it's this very upcoming weekend, on March 7th! The program even gained popularity beyond Germany in close to 100 countries.

Because my girlfriend and me are huge LEGO fans, I started building these figurines a couple of years ago and refined them from time to time, not being aware of the fact that the 50th anniversary of the TV show is getting closer. When we found out, we decided to share the idea with all Mouse fans out there to celebrate the birthday properly!

These quite simple builds use some hard-to find parts but I managed to build them as real brick models, as the photographs show. The figurines are rather static than interactive models without movable parts, with the exception of the Mouse's ears, which I intentionally kept seperated to allow for flexible orientation. Regarding the parts count and the comprehensible yet stable structure, this could be an ideal LEGO build for children.

We believe this would make a great LEGO set because the theme is quite well-known, even internationally. Also, the TV show and LEGO both share a common educational purpose. Furthermore, many Mouse fans are also LEGO fans at the same time, as (not only) the many anniversary submissions on the Maus website have shown – and the WDR TV station even did an episode on how LEGO bricks are made!

If you would like to vote for this LEGO set, please ask your parents to do this for you if you are under the age of 13, because kids of that age are not allowed to register for a LEGO account.

Hier sind die Freunde von der Sendung mit der Maus, einer wohlbekannten und beliebten Fernsehsendung für Kinder – und auch für Erwachsene, schließlich gibt es die Maus schon seit 1971, und damit steht der 50. Geburtstag der Sendung direkt vor der Tür: nämlich kommendes Wochenende, am 7. März! Die Maus kennt man mittlerweile in fast 100 Ländern der Welt.

Weil meine Freundin und ich große LEGO-Fans sind, habe ich die Figuren über die letzten Jahre gebaut und immer wieder verbessert, ohne zu wissen, dass das Jubiläum immer näher rückt. Als wir das erfahren haben, haben wir uns entschlossen, die Idee mit allen Maus-Fans zu teilen, damit wir den Geburtstag angemessen feiern können!

Wir glauben, dass die Figuren ein tolles LEGO-Set abgeben würden, da die Maus auch international sehr bekannt ist. Außerdem hat die Sendung etwas mit LEGO gemeinsam, nämlich einen pädagogischen Anspruch. Darüber hinaus sind viele Maus-Fans gleichzeitig auch LEGO-Fans, wie (nicht nur) die vielen Einreichungen auf der Maus-Website gezeigt haben. Der WDR hat sogar einmal eine Sendung darüber gemacht, wie LEGO-Steine hergestellt werden!
