Santa's Advent Calendar House

In Germany we have a great Christmas tradition of giving our loved ones an Advent Calendar. The calendar helps us to count down the days in December until Christmas Eve. It contains 24 doors for 24 days, which are opened to reveal pictures, sweets or other gifts.

This year I wanted to make my wife a very special Advent Calendar – a calendar made of Lego bricks that match to our Lego Christmas decorations. My way to thanking her for her patience that I always abuse our dining table as building site.

The calendar consists of 24 modular boxes building Santa’s home. I used the modular style to be able to rearrange the boxes and give the calendar a new look every year. Each box is 6x8x6 with a Lego door, except for the last box 24 which is double the size. Each box has enough space to fill it with a Lego figure and other nice things. Santa's cozy living room is located on the roof, from where he has a view of everything.

The building has the following overall dimensions: 29 cm wide, 16 cm deep and 24 cm high. It now stands on our dining room table - with my wife's full permission.

This special advent calendar is not only a nice gift for my wife but for all Lego lovers and their loved ones.
