I'm a big fan of Lego and an even bigger fan of Christmas! This Christmas I designed and had running this train on an oval track under the tree in my living room.
The train runs on the Lego 9v remote control system with the battery box in the passenger cart and the I.R. sensor and motor in the coal carriage. In the actual model the power cable easily comes out of the door on the passenger cart and under, into the coal carriage.
I've used the Lego designer to improve elements (add in extra bits I'd don't own for aesthetics) and add an extra level of Christmas to the design with things such as the gold band on the engine and passenger cart.
