LEGO Mayberry (The Andy Griffith Show)

The Andy Griffith Show (TAGS) introduced us to the quaint town of Mayberry, North Carolina and focused on the (mis)adventures of Sheriff Andy Taylor (Andy Griffith), his deputy Barney Fife (Don Knotts), and Sheriff Taylor's family: son, Opie (Ron Howard) and Aunt Bee (Frances Bavier), as well as a cast of memorable characters, such as Ms. (Helen) Crump, Thelma Lou, Ernest T. Bass, Gomer Pyle, Goober Pyle, and lovable 'town drunk' Otis Campbell, just to name a few.

TAGS' memorable cast as well as its iconic buildings (the Courthouse, the Taylor House, etc.) and the ubiquitous Ford Galaxie patrol car make it ideal to be recreated in LEGO. A quick search online will easily reveal the ongoing nostalgia that this show still garners, even though a number of its principle cast members have now passed away.

This is my in-progress model for the Courthouse/Jail. My intention is to put up the façade for its front. For anyone interested, my principle references were:

Here's a view 'inside'. I plan on adding the accessories after the main building is finished to my liking (and yours: please comment!), including maps, filing cabinets, the gun shelf, the water crock, the cots, the bulletin board, etc.
