I decided to recreate one of my very favorite and most famous paintings in stained glass: Starry Night by Vincent Van Gogh. I built it because I believe that artworks need to have more of a place in the LEGO community. I think that the more geometric aspect of the LEGO cheese slopes give a different take to the famous painting we all know and love, and I hope you love my recreation as well.
I think this would make a great display set, from the office to the bedroom window, Starry Night is a beautiful painting that deserves to be captured in LEGO form. The stained glass design adds a nice touch and allows light to give even more color to the variety of cheese slope colors used in my recreation. I hope you would have as much fun building it as I did!
A possible question is the issue of the cheese slopes being "held" in place by the glass pieces, but this does not necessarily have to be a part of the final product. There are a variety of ways to make a stained glass mosaic using better techniques, it does not necessarily have to be in the exact manner in which I have decided to recreate Starry Night.
