If you are a fan of magical worlds, fantasy and fairytales? You’ve come to the right place. This special flower has something wonderful inside. Turn the crank to make the flower rotate and after a few seconds it will open-up. And… yes! On the flower base a little fairy is dancing.
Having participated on so many events with moving my own creations, it was clear that children and adults alike love to see movement. A specially it they can make it move themselves by pushing a lever of button. With the Harry Potter Hedwig and the Hungarian Horntail Dragon and recently Marvel’s Dancing Groot, this simple moving sets are a musthave. And the popularity of the LEGO Icons botanical collection, this idea is a great combination. Nice to play with, but also looking good standing on a shelf or table.

Now this will look familiar for people who have visited fairytale forest in the Efteling (Dutch theme park)? And yes, this is a bit inspired on the walkthrough darkride the Indian Water Lilies (Indische Waterlelies). In this telling a witch has enchanted star children (fairies) to danse for her. During the day they are in enclosed in large water lilies. And like every fairytale this idea has his own.

The story
Deep in the magical forest of Celesia grows a very special plant. After years a stem finally emerges from the ground. But the promised flower remains hidden. For months the stem has been swaying in the breeze, but still no flower.
On a particular night when the high moon rises, the flower bud grows bigger and bigger until the it is fully grown. When water, wind and earth align to the right rhythm, the light of the moon turns blue and a beam hits the tip of the flower. All the creatures that have gathered around the flower go silent, because something magical is about to happen. The flower slowly opens and they all see a beautiful little fairy laying asleep between the stamens. The bright light of the moon wakes her up. Stretching and yawing, she rubs her eyes. Opening them for the first time, she sees the wonders of the forest and all the creatures that came the see her birth. She smiles… and can’t contain her happiness and starts dancing. Flapping her wings, turning and jumping from petal to petal.
The fawn signals the young fairy that she needs to look to the north, by pointing her nose in that direction. The fairy looks up and sees a light in the far distance and just knows by instinct that she has to go to it. Her flying isn’t still all that great, but she manages to avoids the many branches. Coming closer she sees it is a gathering of more fairies. The bright light is the crown of the Fairy Queen, calling all the new born fairies. Standing near the old oak tree on the edge of the pond. All the other fairies are sitting on the rocks in of next to the pond. Our little fairy quickly finds a place to sit.
The Fairy Queen gives every fairy a task to take care of the trees, plants and animals that live in de forest. With this she makes sure that the forest will never loses its magic. Our little fairy has to take care of the young bunnies and they need lots and lots of attention!

By supporting this Ideas submission you can make this fairytale become a reality! So perhaps you could turn the crank yourself to make this unique flower come to live and see the fairy dancing before your eyes.
