An old classic is back in Lego form!
History
Galaga is a 1981 fixed shooter arcade video game developed and published by Namco. In North America, it was released by Midway Manufacturing. It is the sequel to Galaxian, Namco's first major video game hit in arcades (source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galaga).
The build
This set is composed of a simplistic yet colorful 2D platform that contains the Galaga ship at the bottom shooting lasers to the two enemies on the top (a fly and a moth) surrounded by pixel stars. The frame of the build is sprinkled with a bucketload of flashy retro colors, as well as two shields and one "extra-life" miniship at the bottom, just like in the game! The art is supported by a black leveled frame made of technic bricks that connects to a front control pad. The latter is decorated with joystick, 2 buttons and an "insert 25 cents" slot.
A neat display piece
For all you retro, video game and space enthusiasts out the in the universe, this set is for you. Although the playability functions are limited, this build is a perfect show-off item or simply a tasteful decoration to display on an otherwise bland surface. Bring back the nostalgia and rebuild this classic!
