The Dilophosaurus

The dilophosaurus is iconic for its unique appearance, and a favorite for many (including me!). I have created a display model that is compact yet detailed. The scale was ultimately decided by its head, as making it smaller would not physically be possible with the current level of detail. While it looks like a rigid model, it is actually very posable!

Building techniques & part usage

  • For the crests on the head, I used two dark-green 2x2 Trapezoid Flags next to each other, clipped onto a bar, to get that unique double-crested look.
  • Its frill is made up of 4 old-school parts; Dragon wings that originate from various castle themes from the 90's!

Notable features

  • Neck can bend down without any gaps showing!
  • Mouth can open and close
  • Can adjust legs at the hips
  • Removable frill

Personally I love the contrast between the range of emotions in these poses. In one picture you see a peaceful animal with its head high, on the lookout. In another you witness it in the middle of an attack. I hope you like it as well!

Any support or comment is very much appreciated :)
