The Lunar Gateway will play an important Rule at the Artemis Programm.
Artemis: The Artemis Programm will bring people back to the moon. This with the SLS (Space Launch System).
The Gateway Station will be at a Lunar Orbit. There the Orion Spacecraft will dock to the Station, and then the HLS (Human Landing System) will bring the Astronauts to the Lunar Surface and back.
