M6 Leica Camera

Hi everyone
Here I come with my another Lego project, this time I made an old vintage Leica camera.

Few words about history.
The Leica M6 is a classic and iconic rangefinder camera model that was first introduced by Leica Camera AG in 1984. It played a significant role in the history of photography and remains highly regarded among photographers and collectors.
Here is a brief history of the Leica M6 camera model:
  1. Development and Introduction (1984): The Leica M6 was introduced as the successor to the Leica M4-P. It was designed to continue the tradition of Leica's M-series rangefinder cameras, known for their exceptional build quality, precision, and compactness. The M6 maintained the signature M-series look and feel.
  2. Mechanical Excellence: One of the standout features of the Leica M6 was its fully mechanical operation. It used a purely mechanical shutter, which made it a reliable camera that didn't rely on batteries for basic functionality. However, it did require batteries for the built-in light meter.
  3. Built-in Light Meter: The Leica M6 was the first M-series Leica camera to feature a built-in light meter. This feature was welcomed by many photographers as it made exposure metering more convenient, especially in challenging lighting conditions.
  4. Variants: Over the years, Leica produced several variants of the M6, including the M6 TTL (Time, Aperture, and TTL flash metering), which added TTL flash capabilities, and the M6 Millennium Edition to mark the year 2000.
  5. End of Production: The Leica M6 continued in production for almost two decades, until it was officially discontinued in 2002. It remained popular throughout its production run and is still highly sought after by photographers who appreciate the simplicity and quality of Leica rangefinder cameras.
  6. Legacy: The Leica M6 is often considered one of the finest rangefinder cameras ever made. Its reputation for mechanical precision, build quality, and image quality has led to its enduring popularity among photographers, both amateur and professional. Many photographers continue to use the Leica M6 for its manual focus and traditional film shooting experience.
  7. Collector's Item: Due to its iconic status and limited production, the Leica M6 has become a sought-after collector's item, and well-preserved models can command high prices in the secondhand market.
In summary, the Leica M6 is a classic rangefinder camera known for its mechanical excellence and built-in light meter. It played a significant role in the history of photography and is still cherished by photographers and collectors for its enduring quality and iconic design.
