Scrubs: Sacred Heart Hospital

Welcome to Sacred Heart Hospital, the setting for the Scrubs TV show.

Scrubs was an American sitcom that ran from 2001-2009.

It told the story of college buddies John "JD" Dorian and Chris "Turk" Turk as they became doctors at Sacred Heart hospital.

The show had so many amazing characters and story lines that made us laugh and cry, beautifully capturing the highs and lows of working in a hospital.

I chose to build this as I have had a career of over 20 years in the British NHS and the show came out around the same time as I started. I loved the show and it helped me deal with some of the difficult issues you can experience in an acute hospital.

The build is on base plate 48x32 studs and measures 35-36 cm/14 inches in height.

It is brick build so don't have an exact piece count but would estimate around 3500 pieces.

Each upper floor is removable and also have hinged openings to better see inside.

-ICU (Bay with 2 patient beds and 1 side room)

-Dr Kelso's office

-Beach for Mrs Wilk

-Epiphany toilet

-Golf/throwing water melon area

-Janitors room

-Coffee cart

It has 13 minifigures in total.

Staff: JD, Turk, Carla Espinosa, Elliot Reid, Dr Perry Cox, Dr Bob Kelso, Todd Quinlan, Ted Buckland, Laverne Roberts, Jordan Sullivan and Janitor.

Patients: Harvey Corman and Patricia Wilk

I have tried to include as many references as I could, from Roger Dorsy and orange soda to chocolate cake and Ben's camera - I hope you have fun spotting them.

I have included a chest x-ray which is in the title sequence and was a bit of a talking point at the time as it was put up backwards - however you may be interested to know that about 50% of people with the condition primary ciliary diskinesia have their organs the opposite way round - so it may not have been a mistake after all! 🤔
